Slacker.......

Sorry I've been a slacker, both the girls have been sick!
It started Saturday afternoon with Alli Jo, and then Hunter got sick Easter Sunday night. Both with completely different things. Hunter has a stomach bug, and Alli Jo has yet again.......another sinus infection! UGH
I took Alli Jo to her ped yesterday b/c I knew it was only going to get worse! Her ped suggest that Alli get her adenoids removed. Not only has Alli had this sinus trouble, she also has been snoring and having trouble sleeping. We talked about maybe her tonsils as well. From what she could see they didn't look "too bad" but she said most likely Alli Jo would be back to get her tonsils done if she didn't do both at the same time. So we are scheduled to talk to an ENT tomorrow about it. I'm a little nervous; b/c Alli has never undergone any surgery. I have dealt with minor surgeries and anesthesia with Hunter, so that gives me some hope...but it's still nerve-wracking! So feel free to leave comments if you've ever dealt with this, or have any advice! Thanks in advance!!

Sorry to hear your girlies are sicky. Natalie had both tonsils and adnoids removed when she was 3 1/2. It was well worth it, she is hardly ever sick now. She did get a couple of ear infections after the surgery but after that she has been great. I know it is a tough decision to make with the thought of sending your baby through something like that. Dr. Bizal was her doctor and he also removed my niece Cassie's tonils a couple years ago. He was really good with them both. Any specific questions just e-mail I'd be glad to help with as much as I can. Hope they are feeling better soon!

My Jacob has had 3 sets of ear tubes and adenoids out...Ava had bilateral eye surgery at Kosairs when she was 20 months...both were worth it...scary, but worth it...and they bounce back so quickly.

Griffen had his tonsils & adenoids taken out last August...It was scary b/c he hadn't had any surg. either but it has been worth it. He hasn't gotten sick hardly any since then. Good luck with your decision!!

Leah- hey--- IRONIC!! I was just at ENT yesterday with same thing! They want to remove my tonsils! UGH!! Rather be in her shoes at her age than 38!!!

ANYWAYS....I had Carters removed Im guessing 3-4 (he had the T&A) and it was WONDERFUL! He dont snore-he sleeps much better-hardly gets sick---had both done at same time!! I would reccomend that!! He was a tropper-Dr Erhard here in Jasper did it-- we made it a big deal and went and bought all kinds of ice cream (ya know the expensive kind they always want-and we -well I dont always buy) ha -- we had tons of pudding-gogurts (sp?) we just had fun shopping for the big day-think we even went to DQ and got some frozen things....Well that was fun but --- he hardly ate any of it..ha he was eating regular foods real quick--the sooner the better the Dr said... his only problem was getting the meds down...he is not big on liquid meds...that was it-- good luck on what you decide!!! Amy
here at Jasper- seems to me that they even wheeled him out in a big wagon -- that was fun :)

Whos your Doctor??
