Hallelujah we are home!! Thank you Jesus! Alli Jo is doing "ok". She will be fine and laughing one minute and then the next screaming...UGH! I know that it will only get worse too as she heals. But God kept my baby girl safe, and I am so grateful!
We got to the hospital about 6:20am. We registered at the front and then went up to same day surgery. They got Alli Jo changed into a gown and then we waited..............for 2 hrs! There were other children that were there before Alli so they got to go first. About 1/2 hr before they took her back they have her a little "loopy" medicine LOL Alli Jo was quite the comedian, ha ha! She was trying to put her little sleeping beauty doll on top of the tv and she couldn't get it up there (imagine a drunk person trying to). Right about then, the nurse came to get her to prep her for surgery. I was ok and didn't cry, maybe b/c Alli was so mellow. We went out into the waiting room and waited. The receptionist gave us a paper with Alli's # on it. THere was a large monitor in the waiting room, and you could see a list of the patients #'s. The #'s had a color and the color would change as their status updated. For example when she was being prepared for surgery, her number was highlighted in blue.....when she was in recovery, it was pink. It was really nice, but also I caught myself constantly looking up at the monitor LOL.
Once she was done Dr. Moss came and spoke with us. He is so nice. He explained how it went and what we can expect in her recovery. After that we waiting a little longer in the waiting room until they called us back that Alli was back in the room.
I could hear her little cries while I was walking back to the room. It wasn't a hysterical cry, just a "I want my mommy cry":) The nurses said she didn't cry AT ALL until she got back to the room and saw I wasn't there. I'm so proud of her!!! So the first few hours was a little rough b/c she would cough and had a lot of mucus. But then she slept for like 3 hours! Once she woke up, the nurse wanted her to drink a lot. One of the biggest thing that can happen is dehydration. So once she drank "enough" we got to go home!!
We are home now and she is in MUCH better spirits. I really don't think she smiled once at the hospital, but once she saw her big sissy she just laughed. Hunter had been worried about her all day (such a good big sister).
Here are just a few pics I took with my cell. I have some more I took with Hunter's point-n-shoot that I'll post later......

So glad to hear that all went well! I've been checking your blog all day!! The girls have been talking about Alli for the past two days! Its so cute to hear the things they say about her getting her tonsils taken out! They have NO idea what that actually means but their versions are cute!!
so glad its over for you--- have her eating asap...thats what helped my son. Good Luck. Amy
cute pictures...
Oh my Leah! I just can't imagine. They wanted to take Emma's tonsils out a year or so ago and I just couldn't do it. We did do the tubes and that was a huge improvement. Hopefully we won't have to do the tonsils.
I'm glad everything went well and Alli & mommy are doing great:)
I'm glad everything went well. I hope she will recover quickly.
Leah I'm so glad everything went well!!
glad to hear u are home!! I agree with amy eating solid foods asap helped natalie too! Just no sharp foods like chips/tacos, etc..it helps keep scars from forming on the throat, "scars tearing away from the site is what causes the pain, if less scars less pain". Natalie had the mock cocktail too...she was funny she told Les..."Daddy you have 4 eyes and two hats"...she couldn't even sit up straight! Sounds like Ali is being a real trooper though! And your Hunter was so pretty at the program last night and looked like she was having fun doing her "shoo-Fly" dance!
Glad everything wen well!! She is such a cutie!
